CROOKLYN (1994)

Love this film! It’s a throwback to the times when playing “double dutch, tag and board games was considered fun. When children spent their afternoons on their block roller skating with their friends; a time when everyone on the block knew each other, when young people knew they’d better speak to the old lady next door, or else. Mr. Lee captured that brilliantly, beautifully in the opening scene. Cut to the ruckus & chaos of this Brooklyn family…and it’s all so everything that Brooklyn is… brownstones, stoops, bodegas and all… You’ll laugh and cry on this one!

29 days! At least a clip a day from films by, for and / or about black folk.
